A Clinical Study on Oral Contraceptive, Demulen in Korean Women

Abstract
|
|
|
The author studied the ultrastructural changes of the myocardial fibers in halothane anesthesia experimentally. Nine albino rats were moderately anesthetized with halothane for 60 minutes. Each of three experimental animals was sacrificed immediately, four hours and twelve hours after anesthesia respectively and hearts were extracted out.
The results obtained were summarized as follow:
Immediately after haIothane anesthesia the myocardial fiber showed mild swelling and partial loss of the cristae and the outer membrane in the mitochondria, considerable degree of chondrosphere formation, moderate decrease of glycogen particles surrounding the mitochondria, and mild dilatation of the sarcoplasmic reticulum. Four hours after halothane anesthesia, these changes were relatively milder and then, returned to the normal limits 12 hours after halothane anesthesia.
The results suggested that relatively mild degree of adaptational alterations were occurred in the mitochrondria and the glycogen particles of the myocardial, fiber immediately after halothane anesthesia which were recovered immediately.
